March 1, 2018
ANNUAL SPRING MEETING AND ELECTION SATURDAY, May 19, 2018 10 am
Reminder, spring is election time for your subdivision board. This year, 2018, one Trustee position is up for election. Each position on the Board of Directors is a 3 year term. Incumbent, Ron Newman, will be running for this trustee position. Any Wonderview Unit #1 homeowner, with dues paid for 2018-2019, may run as well. Your dues must be paid through May 31, 2019 in order to be eligible to vote, or run, for a position on the board.
Come out and attend the meeting. This is your chance to find out firsthand what your homeowner’s association is working on and to show your support and interest, or lack of, in our actions and YOUR community.
Announcement: The loan on the community house has been paid in full.
Thanks TO ALL
Let’s give a big SHOUT OUT to the many neighbors (you know who you are) that have stepped up and lent a” hand in need.”
• For the thankless job of cutting the grass at the lake and around the Community House week after week.
• For taking the bull by the horn and handling the purchase of our new laptop and upgraded software.
• For transferring the old files into the new programs and creating our new website.
• For helping make sure the Community House is spiffed up before it is rented.
• For removing the old stove.
“Our deeds determine us as much as we determine our deeds.” George Eliot, 1819-1880

REMINDER
Keep our parks safe for our children. Please report any vandalism to any Board member. For safety and insurance purposes, tackle football is not allowed on park property. ANY rough playing will be done at your own risk. All parks close at dusk and please remember to take your trash home with you.
MOSQUITOES CARRY WEST NILE VIRUS…
A few quick reminders to help keep the mosquito population down…. We only need enough mosquitoes to feed our bat population.
Turn over children’s wading pools when not in use.
Drill holes in the bottom of your recycling and trash containers that are left outdoors.
Discard old tires.
Change bird bath water twice a week
Don’t rake leaves and other yard debris into the gutter or storm drains.
Cover window wells and keep them free of debris.
Keep roof gutters free of leaves and debris.
Aerate ornamental ponds or stock with mosquito-eating fish.
Keep pools clean and chlorinated.
Mosquito eggs develop in any standing water that lasts more than 5-7 days. To reduce the mosquito population around your home, eliminate all standing water and debris and keep weeds trimmed back.
SELLING YOUR PROPERTY?
If you are selling your property one of the things you’ll need at closing is a letter stating whether your dues are current or not. Your letter will indicate the status of your dues at the time of closing. Please contact Virginia Shanholtz (815-653-6661) or Sue Keller (815-653-9450), or by email, at least two weeks prior to your closing.
SAVE BY USING EMAIL
When we communicate by email we save a lot of money on stamps, printing and paper (trees). If you’re interested in receiving INVOICES or other communications, by email, please include your email address with your dues payment. Pinch a penny, save a dime.
Please update your mailing address, P.O. Box and phone numbers as well.
In an attempt to save money and with increasing postal rates all future newsletters will be available on our website: www.wonderviewhoa.org. If you don’t have a computer let us know and we’ll mail yours.
Visit us at: www.wonderviewhoa.org or email us at: treasurer@wonderviewhoa.org, or secretary@wonderviewhoa.org
OTHER RECORDED PROPERTY CHANGES
If you’ve combined your lots into one PIN number please let us know by mail (PO Box 4, Wonder Lake, IL 60097), by email, or by calling Virginia or Sue. Our recordkeeping is only as good as the information we receive. Your correct PIN number will be on your tax bill. Combining your lots will not affect, or change, your association dues. Your dues are based on the number of lots you own.
A LITTLE KNOWN FACT…..
The association dues, assessed on your property, are as collectible as your real estate taxes
